Seto Craft Union (Seto Käsitüü Kogo )

The craftsmanship of men and women surrounds and adorns Seto everyday life. Different skills were acquired quite early in life in order to survive.

Today, being skilled in traditional crafts can be both a way of living and a source of income.

The NPA Seto Craft Collection (MTÜ Seto Käsitüü Kogo) was founded in Obinitsa on the 18th of July 2006.

Among our members are both enterprises specialised in different crafts, non-profit associations and craftsmen.

The aim of the Seto Craft Union is to develop  enterprises working with traditional Seto crafts through preserving and furthering traditional seto crafts. We are happy to provide information about traditional crafts, from textiles to log houses.  We can also arrange courses in different Seto crafts.  It is also possible to order different craft products and services from our members.

A Seto craftsmen's advisory system with a database spanning both Seto textiles and farm architecture is underway.
